Just an update for now

As I last posted, I didn't think the Berry Farm was going to take shape until next year. As it turns out...............it's happening this spring. The farm as been designed and is being staked today. The plants will arrive AFTER THIS BIG NOW SNOW. OMG.......what's with that. There are over a 1000 plants coming. If your free on time and want to plant just give me a ring a ding.................

The approach to the farm

There will have to be some major dirt work here in order to get into the farm. The parking area will hold 40 cars. The parking and North side will be fenced with purple Mars grapes. Also a walking path to the barn will be lines with the Mars grapes as well. These grapes are excellent for jelly. Can't wait.

New Equipment coming in

New 2 bottom plow. That's my loving husband and son. So excited....................

Before Remodel on the Barn

Wow a lot of work to do in there and a lot of things to find new homes for. Just east of this barn will be the future site for the Blue Berry's.

Berry Farm Taking Shape

This is the view looking east of the property. Future site of Blackberry, Black Raspberry, Gooseberry, Boysenberry, Red Raspberry and Elderberry.

New Stuff

Well I now have decided to become a Master Gardener. I am finding this to be very interesting as well as informational too. So much material to read and go over. I sure hope I remember it all.

My little seedlings are really needing to be set outside in the ground. I started them way to early and the poor things need better conditions to live it. I found some holes in my flower beds to put the carrots, lettuce and peas in and I hope they make. I sowed some Swiss Chard today in my flower garden and I can't wait for that wonderful Spring color to arrive.

Today I have a Missouri Extension agent coming out to look over the farm. As I don't have the ground properly prepare yet, I believe I'll have to wait until next spring to start the berry's. The field is full of warm season grasses. They will have to be mowed and annual rye planted to enrich the soil for the summer and fall months.
I'll take farm pictures next month.
